Fixed per job by route, and CLRD works out the route. Each price is the whole job lifecycle: every document below, before and after the install, and every exchange with the DNO in between. It costs less because the CLRD engine builds the pack, so the team's time goes on the DNO, not on paperwork. No subscription, and nothing to pay until the pack is built.

We run the whole DNO job, end to end.

Keying a job in is the easy part. The work is everything after it: the DNO's questions, amending the application when they ask for changes, a connection offer or an export limit to deal with, and the commissioning paperwork once it's installed. Hand the job to CLRD and the team who built the platform runs all of it, end to end, in your name.

From the moment it's submitted the DNO's correspondence comes to us, and every job has its own message thread, so you always have a direct line to whoever is running it. The job sits in your account with its full history, the same as one you ran yourself.

How Escalate to CLRD works

From there it's the same for both: the job comes to the CLRD team, who run it end to end in your name. It stays in your account, and uses none of a plan's job allowance.

Every job you hand over has its own message thread in CLRD, between you and the CLRD team running it. We deal with the DNO. The thread is where you hear about it, and where anything we need from you comes and goes.

  • We talk to the DNO so you don't have to. Their emails come to us and are answered in your name.
  • Upload anything extra straight onto the thread: a photo of the cut out, a revised survey, a test reading. It's on the job from then on.
  • Tied to the job, not lost in an inbox. Every message sits beside the job's documents and history.
  • Unread badges in the app, and new messages in your morning email, so nothing waits on you unseen.

A connect and notify job has nothing to submit before the install: its notification goes once it's commissioned. After submission the wait is the DNO's own assessment, which depends on the route: none for a notification, anything from two to ten weeks for an application.

Getting help with a DNO application.

Who actually does the work?
The CLRD team, the people who built the platform from the first line of code and learned the DNO process on real installs. Nothing is outsourced. We wrote the routing, the forms and the pack, so every job goes out with every part the route calls for, however many you send, and the DNO's questions, amendments, export limits and connection offers all come to us, with you kept up to date on the job's message thread.
Are amendments and connection offers extra?
No. If the DNO asks for changes we amend the application on the same job, and when they send a connection offer we handle it. Our work on both is in the price, and so is the commissioning paperwork after the install. Any charge the DNO makes itself, for a connection offer or its own works, is the DNO's, paid to them. NGED, for example, usually charge £183 for a Type A offer.
Can someone else submit my G99 application for me?
Yes. Hand the job to CLRD and our compliance team completes the G99 application and submits it to the DNO in your name, with your signature. You stay the named installer, the DNO's replies come to the team, and you follow every step on your dashboard.
How much does a G98 notification cost?
£10. That includes the notification, the single line diagram and the commissioning paperwork. A G99 application is £50, and a job installing new generation and load together is £75 where it applies to the DNO, or £10 where it's connect and notify throughout.
Is the single line diagram included?
Yes. Every job's documents include the SLD, along with the letter of authority, the site map, the cover letter and any G100 forms. Nothing is charged on top.
Whose name goes on the forms?
Yours. The forms are completed and signed in your name, and the job sits in your CLRD account with its full history, the same as one you ran yourself.
How quickly is it submitted?
Once we have everything we need from you, an application handed over before 2pm, Monday to Saturday, is submitted the same day. After 2pm, or on a Sunday, it goes the next working day, and you can hand jobs over 7 days a week. From there the wait is the DNO's own assessment, which depends on the route. A connect and notify job has no application: its notification goes after the install.
What do I need to send you?
Whatever you have. A note with the site survey pasted in, and any files: PDF, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, text or photos, up to 10 MB each. If something only you can answer comes up, whoever is running the job asks you on its message thread.
Do I need a subscription?
No. A free CLRD account with your signature on file and a saved card is enough, and managed jobs use none of a plan's job allowance. If you do subscribe, the two work side by side: run the routine jobs yourself and hand over the ones you'd rather not.
I already use CLRD. How do I hand a job over?
Press Escalate to CLRD on any page of a new job. What you've entered so far is saved, you add a note and your files, and the price for each route is shown before you send it.
Can you do EV charger and heat pump DNO applications?
Yes. On its own, the ENA EVCP and HP form is £10 where the equipment meets the connect and notify criteria and £50 where it has to apply first. Installed with new solar or a battery on the same job, it's £75 where the job applies to the DNO, and £10 where it's connect and notify throughout.
Is there anything you can't take on?
A few IDNOs only accept applications through their own portal, so jobs on their networks can't be handed over, and nor, for now, can a commercial job above 50 kW on the Standard Application Form. CLRD tells you before you try.
